Call for Volunteers

Volunteers make WordCamps happen! We’re always looking for enthusiastic community members who want to help make WordCamp Niagara great but aren’t sure where they can contribute. Here’s your chance!

Volunteers receive a complimentary ticket to WordCamp Niagara 2019 as thanks for helping with the following activities:

Setup: Generally, all volunteers are expected to come in at 7 a.m. Saturday morning to help set up chairs and registration. This is when most of the work takes place, and there plenty of easy tasks of every kind that need your hands.

Teardown: Help us clean up the rooms and remove any tables or equipment we set up that morning.

Registration and Greeters: Help manages the registration table, check attendees’ names off the registration list as they sign in, and ensure they receive their badges and gifts. Greeters act as ambassadors in the venue and help lost people find the rooms they’re looking for.

Room Hosts: Help keep speakers on time, stock water or supplies, and notify us if there are problems in the room, such as A/V equipment malfunctioning. This is one of the best positions – you get to watch engaging speakers in fascinating sessions while performing your task!

Video Recording and Processing: You’re behind the camera for a specific session(s), with (some) creative license to focus on the slides or follow the speaker around on stage. People who love filming for YouTube may relish this role. Someone is also needed to actively produce the videos post-Camp.

If you’d like to volunteer for any of these roles, please complete the following application form, and our coordinator will be in touch soon!
